"Pictures - and their sounds" – listening to and looking on Iceland in Bad Berleburg, Germany
(12 September till 21. October 2011)
During the yearly series of literature events 'Berleburger Literaturpflaster' in Bad Berleburg (Germany) I will show the picture-sounds-installation "Pictures - and their sounds": looking at 40 pictures in a book and listening to the corresponding sounds. All photos and recording were taken in Iceland during the last three years, four new recordings were taken this summer 2011.

While or right after each image was taken, the background sounds of the scene were recorded along with it – the silence of nature, the noise in the streets, or the various voices of protest during a demonstration. A picture gets alive, gets another dimension - the time - and a corresponding medium -the accustic. An new and intensive way to look at pictures ...

The installations will be shown from 12 September till 21 October 2011 at three places in Bad Berleburg:
- Landhaus Wittgenstein, Lössner Weg 24
- Stadtbücherei (the public library), Poststraße 42
- Buchhandlung MankelMuth, Poststraße 19

More details and the whole, first-rate calendar of events on the homepage of the literature festival 'Berleburger Literaturpflaster'.
