Almost at the same time with the Frankfurt Bookfair 2011, with guest of honour Iceland, I will show my picture-sound-installation "Pictures - and their sounds" during the joint exhibition 'KRAFTAVERK. The Icelandic Experience.' at the EULENGASSE in Frankfurt: 40 pictures in a book and the corresponding 40 sounds via headphone. All recordings and pictures were taken in Iceland during the last three years.

While or right after each image was taken, the background sounds of the scene were recorded along with it – the silence of nature, the noise in the streets, or the various voices of protest during a demonstration. A picture gets alive, gets another dimension - the time - and a corresponding medium -the accustic. An new and intensive way to look at pictures ...

My installation is shown from 7. till 16. October 2011 at EULENGASSE, Seckbacher Landstrasse 16 in 60389 Frankfurt-Bornheim. Weitere Informationen auf www.eulengasse.de.
