We were about 18 persons in Djúpavík and celebrated three birthdays, the end of the passing year and the begin of the new year 2011 :-)... Warm greetings and a big TAKK to all who joined these nice days, but a special TAKK goes to Eva!

Not only during the summer time I am in Djúpavík, but also at the end and the begin of a year! On 30 December I drove to Djúpavík together with Roland (from Bern) and today to the north (swimming pool Krossnes, Norðurfjörður and to the herring factory Eyri in the fjord Íngólfsjörður).

Not the older ones, but the youngsters were sitting at the boards today! I do not know how may they were, but a many kids (and their parents) came to the town hall to take part in the chess tournament. The mayor of Reykjavík Jón Gnarr opened the tournament!

Hrafn Jökulsson is presenting his new book "Við ysta haf Mannlíf og náttúra í Árneshreppi â Ströndum" with pictures and texts about the inhabitants, their daily life and the nature of "Árneshreppur" (the district where Djúpavík is located).

My favorite lake, only a few kilometers far/south of Reykjavík. I was there several times, but the lake looked different always. A fascinating lake in beautifull sourroundigs.

Apparat Organ Quartet (with Jóhann Jóhansson) presented their new record 'Pólýfónía'. But before Apparat Organ Quartet played dj. flugvél og geimskip and Junichi Matsumoto. Their new record is listed on the first places in many ranks like best-icelandic-records-of-2010. So check it out!

A family plays music - tonight was the icelandic singer and songwriter Ellen Kristjáns on the stage - together with her daughters Sigríður and Elísabet and her brother KK. I recomend Ellens music, great! Listen to her and see her band: Ellen Kristjáns - The Beach!
